The Reviews
The reviews for the DeLonghi DE500P Energy-Star 50-Pint Dehumidifier with Pump are terrible. The number of 1 and 2 star reviews out number the 4 and 5 star reviews by almost 6 to 1. OUCH! There were a few positive reviews with one person saying it is a great dehumidifier and they can’t live without it and a couple of people pointed to its energy efficiency and they like the pump and the high capacity collection tank.
The bad news is that there were very few reviews that had anything good to say about the DeLonghi DE500P. Most of the reviews said things like “stops working just after the warranty expires”, Just don’t buy it”, “I own it, you shouldn’t” etc. An alarming number of people report that the machine stopped working after just one year, some after a few months, and some after just a few weeks. Out of the huge number of people that had units that would not remove a single drop of water out of the air, many agree that the customer service was extraordinarilly bad as well.
